Livestock Shelter Sizing

With a floor area of 16m², this robust outdoor shelter combines a heavy-duty steel frame with a weather-resistant PVC roof to provide reliable protection in all conditions. Designed with animal welfare in mind, it offers a safe, dry, and sheltered environment—ideal for livestock on small farms, acreage properties, or situations where dependable cover and comfort are a priority.

To ensure ease of transport and assembly, each shelter is carefully packed at our manufacturing facility into a single solid steel crate. The crate is secured with reinforced metal strapping, guaranteeing that all components arrive in perfect condition, ready to be assembled. For added peace of mind, warehouse-to-door delivery can be arranged, making the process simple and straightforward from purchase to installation.

Frame: Hot-dip Galvanised steel tube frame.

Constructed from tough, hot-dip galvanised steel tubing, the frame is engineered for exceptional corrosion resistance and long-lasting strength. Its durable, chip-free finish ensures dependable performance and protection season after season.

With precision pre-cut lengths, every component slots neatly together—no cutting, drilling, or measuring required. Assembly is quick and straightforward: connect the pieces, tighten the bolts, and the result is a sturdy, reliable structure that goes up in no time. Strong, durable, and designed for hassle-free installation.

The frame is secured to the ground using heavy-duty base plates and stakes. Each arch tube locks firmly into the base plate with high-strength bolts, creating a stable foundation. For added security, steel ground stakes keep the plates anchored in place, while a more permanent installation can be achieved by bolting the plates directly to concrete piers.

The shelter is designed for straightforward assembly using standard handyman tools. To ensure a smooth build, we recommend:

• Two metric ratchet spanners – for securely tightening all bolts

• Metric long socket set with drill adapter – ensures precise connections

• Power drill(s) – speeds up assembly and makes bolts effortless to tighten

• Heavy-duty mash hammer – ideal for driving stake pegs firmly into place

• Spirit level – confirms the frame is straight, stable, and properly aligned

We prefer hot-dip galvanising on all our products because:

Hot-dip galvanising is a is an effective way to protect steel from corrosion and weathering, resulting in a durable, low-maintenance, and environmentally friendly material. Our galvanising methodology is a process whereby the steel used in this livestock shelter is submerged in a scorching bath of molten zinc, which creates a protective zinc coating that metallurgically bonds to the steel.

• Corrosion resistance – The zinc coating provides three levels of corrosion protection for the underlying steel: barrier protection, cathodic protection, and the formation of a zinc patina. This allows galvanized steel to resist corrosion for decades, even in harsh environments.
• Durability – The galvanized coating is highly abrasion and impact resistant, making galvanised steel durable and able to withstand heavy use.

It is UV-stabilised to resist sun damage and prevent fabric deterioration, ensuring a long lifespan even under the harsh Australian climate.
